WA Lateral Link???

So I was swapping the diff in my vert the other day, and ohnoz! I found this! Looks like the control arm (not 100% it's the control arm) is bent, because it's not spaced to the rear subfrace on the right as it is on the left. I think It's a ton of stuff really but this guy, from what I see in AllData is the "Lateral Link" looks really bad. So...

Where do I find these?

Should/can I upgrade them?

Dealership, Mazdatrix or classifieds. That must have throw your alignment way off. It is the lateral link. Compare the swing arm on the right to the one on the left and make sure it didn't get bent. Also check subframe for straightness.

I spun out on a mountain run and hit a curb pretty hard, anyways i bent the exact same piece and it made my car track really bad. Anyways I just got a replacement from a local junk yard if you can't find one, the junk yard out here has them for 20-30 bucks ill pull it and send it your way.

Classic! I spun out in mine and hit a curb just as Wildchild described. Mine wasn't bent that bad though, just a small kink. It will definitely change handling and chew up the tire if you leave it that way.

Some bitch ran me off the interstate in an explorer and mine looked about like yours, car crabed pretty bad. When I looked for a replacement no one had one so I took it out and beat it straight (close enough anyway) w/ a 2lb hammer. It was much improved, but ended up swapping the whole subframe a few months later just to be sure.

I rolled mine 5 times and bent that rod.

I would suggest swapping the entire subframe out. Good used ones can be had for cheap, and if thats bent, theres a good chance other things on the subframe/hub might be tweaked.

Yeah it's bad. Actually that tire sits pretty good, its my LR tire that is way off haha. I keep eating tires from wear so until I figure this out I'm not buying new. I found one on ebay for cheap-ish.

So rear subframe huh? That sucks. I need to get new bushings and stuff so I'll get the ES master kit someday and just get all new parts.

JK just need 1. My swing arm (or control arm??) looks like it's okay. But we will see how things line up after I get a new lateral link. I don't need a master kit because the only things I need are the control arm bushings. They don't include differential and subframe bushings so epic fail there... ugh lol.

Give it serious thought before replacing subframe and differential mount bushings with anything other than stock rubber. NVH will increase with firmer materials.

Correct. Those vibrations that would normally be absorbed by rubber mounts and bushings will be transfered into the chassis if those mounts/bushings are replaced with firmer or solid material. Whether you can tolerate that or not depends on you and your car's purpose.
