KYB strut boots

Hey i just got my ST springs and KYB strut boots. the KYB AGX's are on there way. only thing is everyones sayin to cut the bump stopers in half. on these new boot/bump stops theres no way. the very top is were it fits over the strut and you cant cut any of it from the bottom cause it the boot. has anyone else got these and used them?

I didn't cut mine, never heard that. I had a concern because the KYB bump stop does not fit into the Mazda bump stop cup. I would say to trim the cup, you have to have the cup to hold the rubber bushing, but you could trim the bottom side of the cup. Without the cup your strut will not work, it will just slide up through the upper strut mount on the rear. I don't recall any problems on the front (could be faulty memory on that one though).

I put all four in. Salt and debris can do a number on exposed steel. I put Eibach Pro-kit springs on my car. Supposedly a 3/4" drop from stock, but old springs will sag so you might not be able to tell. Do what the spring instructions tell you. What I described is a different problem, you will probably run into that as well. There is an 'alignment kit' that the TireRack($25) has for lowering beyond 1" or more. Have it in hand when you go to get an alignment or you might be making two trips.
Read the papers for the KYBs. They will not honor the warrantee if you lower the car too much.
Good luck!
