cool, but yeah if it were under $100 that would be preferred

I'd still like one though

Don't get me wrong, I realise the aluminium piece will be superior to the plastic one. It just seems a bit suspect to claim "you will probably be replacing the stock plastic unit on average of every two to three years", particularly coming from the seller. Does anyone here really do that?

The stock S4 neck is already aluminium, so it won't be any different to that.

The s5 Thermostat Housing Is as visually displeasing to look at as a bent over large women In my Bikram class.

It takes away from all the glassbeaded Manifolds and the like.

I guess the words "probably" and "on average" doesn't mean anything to you...

We've been talking about a cheaper alternative, and that is to just machine an adapter to fit the Zenki thermostat cover to the Kouki water pump housing.  You'll need to find your own Zenki thermostat cover, but the adapter will be significantly cheaper than a total replacement.  I know someone was asking about a filler cap option, and this adapter will fit the bill and make it cheap.

Your wording means 2-3 years is the most likely lifespan of a new replacement. It would mean some would last longer but some would last less time than that, which I find hard to believe.

Like I said, I think it's a good piece you're offering, and will be far less likely to fail. it just sounds like you're trying to scare people into buying them by making the stock piece sound far worse than it is.

Bingo! That stock plastic gets ugly real quick as it gets discolored.

Yeah, Ted, I found the thread. I'm interested.

What's on mine I wonder? I have an S5 but that pipe is metal, and has a thermosensor bung (with mechanical hookup that goes to a gauge in the cockpit) The pipe has only two mounting bolt holes, but there are three in the engine. It stays on just fine with only the two though. Car came that way, the engine is a rebuilt jspec.... Any idea Ted?

A little off topic, but do you still have those TB adaptors?

Hmm... If I had an S5, I'd be in for it... but I don't.

Have faith in me though, my 13BT swap comes in a few months and a "higgitrix" throttlebody/FMIC adapter will soon follow. I need to keep that slick aluminum non-turbo hood, no need to advertise a new 13BT to the unsuspecting world.

That's what I was going to ask. I have a friend looking to possibly make an adapter before the thermostat, so that you don't have to drill & tap anything on you engine to put a water temp sensor in it.

I would buy one soleyl because if had a hole where you could put an aftermarket water temp sensor.

For what its worth... Those S4 water pump owners looking for some bling you can use a Ford 302 water neck thermo housing. You can get them in machined billet in anodized colors. Nice ones are from CSI and are $100 and cheaper. They wok great and look cool, but you have to mod it slightly (slot the holes) for it to fit. You can get them with the neck able to swivel for those with custom radiators. You can even get them with a water cap too.

I'd love to get a S5 billet neck with a cap, and anodized in colors along with a place for a temp sensor. TED / Higgi MAKE THEM!

heres a pic of the CSI units with a filler cap built in. Also, I have 2 series5 cars and neither neck as yet to break, but there damned ugly brown and I'd love something nicer for my current build. And I'd like not to have to switch to a s4 water pump.

Why the extra cost, join MAZDACOMP. 2 autocrosses a year and the part is less than $30.00.

Is this water neck going to happen? ReTed? Higgi?
I know there were some negative responses, but there are others here that would buy it.

i know countless ppl from forum who "WOULD" buy it but "WOULD" does not mean **** and does not pay any of your bills......its same story again and again

you either invest your money in developement or fabrication of something and then just hope you sell what u made, and if lucky walk out without loss, or being stuck with tons of stuff who everybody would buy (sometime later, eventually)

or you estimate some price for project and ask those ppl to pay in advance to make that project happen and they never show up with money, so project will never start at all

First way does not make you happy because u waste time and money without profit, second way does not work either.
