Unhappy knockin motor?? i dont have pistons do I!!lol

ok wtf i dont have pistons so why is it doing this. ok i drive my car one day and it seems like it is loosin power like the exhaust is clogged. so i take it to the shop and get a new exhuast ran, and a oil change cause it was flooded badly before. when i drove it there there was no knockin. it just didnt wanna stay running. i had to keep my foot on the gas. when i get it back the other day. the **** is knockin. it sounds like its coming from the block. it has comp still. dont know how much though. it is very slow, loud. it only has 2200 miles on a rebuilt motor. what could this be??

change your plugs and wires, and fuel filter if they are not new. make sure your wires are on the right plugs. did you set the timming on your new motor?

ya sounds like detonation. maybe your new exhuast is making you run leaner now. but it shoudln't. it probably just pushed your other problem over the edge.

I had a 79 and it had what sounded like a rod knocking. Yeah, I know, rotaries do not have any pistons so where was the sound coming from?!? Well, I tear it down and guess what...it had a bad ecentric shaft bearing and that was what was knocking. Sounded exactly like a rod knocking.
