Knock, why hook up a aftermarket computer to it?

I was currious to the advantage of hooking into the Knock. I do not quite understand how it works.

The greedy Ult E-Manage allows you to hook into two of three, Knock, Water Temp, or Intake temp. I am tryin gto figure out the advantage of going into the Knock sensor.

Thank you,
Chris

knock sensor measures detonation in the engine.

in short

detonation=blown apex seals

with good tuning the knock sensor is irrelevant and by the time the engine detonates and the ecu reads it the apex seal is on the way out the tailpipe. so i woudn't bother, just invest in a good tuner.

Thanks for the feedback Karack.
So, rather than hook it into the Knock & Intake OR Water Temp, I should go with Water Temp and Intake Temp?

yes, microtech doesn't even run an input for a knock sensor for example, if it did it would be more for logging purposes to tell you what killed the motor after the fact. coolant and intake temps are the main sensors you will need to run.
