Just a setup idea for how much gain with a supercharger.

Ok, I'm at work but I finished all my job , I'm kind a bored, and since I'm proly getting the Camden SC, I was writing a list, what would be the estimate HP at the wheels with this setup:

Camden SC EFi of course
FD Fuel Pressure Regulator
Walbro255 FP
720cc primaries
1600cc Secondaries
Microtech LTX8
New Rebuild street ported
T2 Tranny, Driveshaft
ummm what else am I missing or should I add??

MAX the setup doesn't matter unless you know what boost you can run. Then we could have an idea of what powa you can make. I think it would be interesting to know how efficient the blower they are using will be.

I'd say 250-300. But that depends on how well the SC can do for our 13B's and if you find a good tuner for that LTX. Just like 12 PSI on a stock turbo and 12 PSI on a TO4 will make different power levels. Does camden have any info on the charger?

If you will be using that roots blower w/o any "aftercooling" (the supercharger equivalent of an intercooler), your power will suck compared to an equal psi ran on a turbo or centrifugal blower with inter/after coolers.

The real (only) problem I have with the Atkins supercharger kits is lack of any method of cooling down the compressed air after it exits the blower. Compressed air gets hot just because it was compressed, and the heat generated by an inefficient blower like a roots type (which the Camden brand is) will heat that air badly. Hot air contains less oxygen than warm or cool air, and less oxygen means less fuel can be run, and less fuel means less energy, and of course, less power.

If only someone would make a real nice centrifugal compressor kit for the FC which included a small FMIC, FMU already tuned, and pipes / brackets / pulleys all fabbed for a bolt-on deal, how nice it would be. The market is wide open! This setup would be completely superior to any non-aftercooled roots at any given PSI, although it wouldn't deliver as much PSI low in the RPM band, but then again it would not change that sweet torque curve that our NA rotaries have.
