Just a quick question about my new FC...
When I start, the car blows out a good bit of white smoke, but after she runs for a few minutes & warms up...nothing. The car is currently running pre-mix...not sure if that has anything to do with it, cuz I figured if it was the oil...it'd be burning blue. The smoke doesn't smell sweet either...so it's not coolant. This is my first rx-7...so it could very well be normal, I just want to be sure.

Are you sure it's not just moisture in the pipes that's burning off? Also, if the pipes are cold when you startup your engine it creates condensation and mixed with heat, it will cause some white smoke. Most RX7's will do this in the cold weather, so I think your car's behavior is probably normal.

None of my 7 FC ever blew smoke on start up unless blown. Actually the last one I had blew a coolant seal and it never EVER smoked cause it was all happening internally. Since its not blue and not sweet, I would say its just and FC being an FC and running rich on start up. Dont worry about it until it doesent stop smoking LOL

Well it's def not oil burning...lol. I just wanted to confirm my suspicions...it just seemed like a good bit of white smoke. I couldn't think of it being anything other than condensation...but i wanted to be sure. I live in brampton, ontario...so yea...cold weather is most likely the issue. Do N/A's come with single exhausts? Or dual? Just want to be sure...because this one is single...and wayyyyyyyyyyy too loud...lol.

Well I knew this one was aftermarket...I know they are quiet in stock form...lol. I wouldn't mind some true duals. I just can't take how loud this car is...shakes the hell outta my home...lol...stuff just rattles like hell. Just asking to get pulled over. I know the turbos are dual...i just wanted to make sure the N/As were too...cuz I never really looked into the N/As much...but look where I ended up :P . She actually has 203k on her...and runs mint...can't complain.

203K WOW!!! Well when you take care of them, they return the favor. If you end up keeping your single pipe, look into getting a resonator, it'll quiet the hell out of it. If you go dual, try racing beat or the Greddy dual exhaust. Both are expensive and a bit hard to find used to good luck!
