Just how much should an exhaust shake?...

Today I got an alignment done on my car (hurray, the steering wheel points straight now!) and when the guy was lowering it off the lift, I noticed my exhaust shakes... a lot.

I know that quite a few of my exhaust hangers in the middle of the car... don't exist I made makeshift hangers for one of my mufflers (with a handfull of zipties, they're still holding up), since I couldn't get the damn donut onto one of the sides, but even the muffler that has both donuts on it still shook a lot.

I wonder, what is the most shaking that is acceptable in the whole exhaust system? I'm starting to think mine is kind of a ghetto-custom system, just by looking at how it's a mishmash of a bunch of different piping sizes all welded together so it JUUUUST doesn't quite fit correctly (the muffler tips are too far apart).

If only I had the money to buy a single-exit cat-back...oh well.

There's no rattling.. I just don't want anything to break itself off.

Man do you have a flex in your exhaust? All that shaking is putting strain on whatever exhaust studs/header/manifold you have. Best taking it to a real exhaust shop that can tack weld the proper hanger on for you. Nothing more embarrassing than losing exhaust parts (I lost both my mufflers in the same day on my T2 when I first got it.)
Embarassing
