Just got an 88 GXL parts car! WOOHOO!!

I just picked up this 88 GXL for $100. Unfortunatly its an automatic but its deffinitely worth the hundred since I'm planning on doing the 4-5 lug conversion, taking the passenger side fender, hood, steering wheel and probably lots more.
When I opened the hood I almost sent it flying. It was so light compared to mine so I did the magnet test and sure enough it appears to be aluminum.
Here are a couple pics.

Where in Pensacola did you get it? I haven't seen that one around.

There's a burgandy automatic base for sale over on Pace for a grand, too .

I also plan on replacing my hatch with this one. I want to ditch the rear wiper equipment but what can I use to cover the hole?

Hey Dale, Its funny how I found this one. The previous owner left a note in my mother in law's mail box after seeing my 7 in her yard.

The bologna slicer wheels were in pretty great shape except for a bit of peeling. No biggie as I plan on having these powder coated white.

Too bad its an auto, or you'd have a 4.10 LSD for your car too.

What does your car look like? I'm sure I've seen it around town at some point.

Yeah, I was psyched when he said it was a GXL but then I saw the auto. Oh well I can't complain. Buying the parts for the 4-5 lug conversion alone would have cost me alot more than a hundred so I'm still cool with it.

Its your average tornado grey 87 base w/ phone dial wheels. Nothing to really make her stand out from any other one except that the phone dials are from 88 I believe and are the polished type. I haven't really driven her much since my mother in law nailed my passenger side fender with her Caddie while pulling out of her spot.

Hmm, don't think I've seen it. If you see a dark grey NA with '89 GTU rims on it driving sideways, that's me . When I get the 10th running, it will be the very loud white car with the flames billowing out the back .

Might have to get up with you - I may need a few parts from the car that you don't need. Maybe we can swap or something. PM me when you get the chance.

Will do. I'm going to be out of town for a bit but will get in touch when I get back.
