Just a few simple questions
Iv searched for this but I need a few pointers on polishing my intake,If anyone has info or a web site thea would be great. And also how to port the waste gate on the turbo.Im new to the whole turbo thing, iv been driving my b/a for 4 years and am doing the swap.So any HELP would be great.
Polishing the mani is a PITA if you do it by hand, takes alot of time. As far as the porting goes, go to this site. Tons of usefull tips. http://fc3spro.com/TECH/HOWTO/howto.html
First, get more detailed with your title.
"Just a few simple questions" is not going to get a lot of people clicking it.
It would be more useful if you mentioned "polishing intake manifold?", or something like it.
Second, don't bother doing it yourself.
It's a waste of time and a pain in the ***.
Look for a polishing shop locally - they can do it for a good price.
$100 is not unreasonable, and it's going to save you from a lot of frustration.

I wasted at least 50 hours working on that stupid thing, and it still looks like ****.
(I used the wrong type of clear coat.
)You need to knock down all the rough casting - use like an 80-grit initially.
Then you need to progressively go finer to get the really smooth surface.
I moved to a 120, then to a 220, then to a 400.
Then after all of that sanding, you need to get a buffing wheel and use the right type of "rouge" or polishing compound to get the luster out of the aluminum.
Even with a power drill and Scotchlock sanding discs and a small buffing attachment, I wasted 2 months of work - at least 1 or 2 hours per DAY.
