Your TPS shouldn't cause a starting problem. The reason you have so much smoke, is 'cause you're really rich (gas not cash). It sounds like you have a leaky injector. While the car is running, pull the egi fuse, and let the car die. The next day, plug the fuse back in, and try to start the car. If it starts up no problem, with no smoke, then it's a good bet that the pressure in the system is pushing fuel through the injector while it sits, and is pooling in the rotor housings - ie flooding it. I'll bet that it's even harder to start when you run the car for only a couple of seconds then shut it down. As for your turbo smoke: did you use new gaskets when you put it back together? If not, that could be a problem. While the engine is cool, check that all of the bolts are properly torqued, and that everything is hooked up properly ie O2 sensor etc. Any exhaust leak in the turbo will cause a loss of pressure, which might cause some of your problems. The ATF trick is only for when the car is so flooded it wont start. Good luck,
Nick

I was under the impression the ATF trick was to remove carbon buildup....
to unflood the car, why not just pull the EGI fuse and turn it over a little... Then put the fuse back in and voila...

I have a lot of smoke on startup as well... I dunno if this is because of flooding, but it will really smoke hard in the first 4 minutes or so of running it. Lemme know if you have any ideas!
Thanks!
