just did a compression test on my reman motor, what do you think?.....

i just got back from Mazda where i had the compression tested on the FC. the motor is an S5 TII Mazda Reman motor with about 644miles on it as of the test, here's the results....

front rotor:

1. 9.0
2. 8.9
3. 8.9

rear rotor:

1. 8.4
2. 8.3
3. 8.3

those are the official compression numbers at about 644miles on the motor. about 400miles still to go on the break in. this motor is looking good!

yes. mine was fully warm since i had drove it 10+ miles just to get there. make sure next time its tested that the motor is at operating temperature so that you get an accurate reading.

if a motor hits 8's or above when warm, you know it's damned strong. Most remans hit 8.5's or a hair over.

awesome, just the kind of person i wanted to chime in on my test results. thanks Kevin for letting me know about the readings. i knew those were real good but i wasn't sure just how good. this motor does feel really strong, honestly this one feels stronger at 3psi then my last j-spec did at 15psi.

can't wait to finish the break in, tune it and start giving it WOT.
