just a couple of questions

well my car is nearly ready i just need to cross my engine and tranny over to the other car and connect everything a hope it fires up. Well I have a couple of questions not related to that but yeah just a couple of doubts:

1. Will the S5 NA gauge cluster work with my T2 engine and harness? i mean it matches up and everything but are there any differences in the pin set up to the gauge cluster?

2. I currently have a 4.56 LSD available, from my dad's old racing days, would i have any problems running this? what would some potential gains and drawbacks be?

3. Is the 90 GTUs chassis any lighter than the 87 TII chassis? i mean my GTUs/TII conversion only has power mirrors compared to my old TII which had power everything even a/c which i completely removed from the GTUs and TII block. If its lighter, will it be enough to affect my performance significantly?

I don't know (but I'd guess) that the gauge cluster will work. Well... I wonder if the tachometer numbering is "closer spaced" than the TII? Since the N/A has a redline of 8 and the TII of 7. Like, are all the numbers scrunched into the same amount of space... If so, your tach will be a little off.

Also, your N/A tach will want to read the volts, wheras the TII gauges would have boost... (which is crap anyways) My stock boost gauge says I run like 25psi stock.

I don't know if some random LSD will fit in our cars...?

That is some SHORT gearing, I'd probably like to keep my car "freewayable" if you know what I mean. Don't you have the stock 4.3 lsd from the GTUs anyways? I'd just use that.

I bet weight-wise they're pretty comparable. The s4's were lighter than the s5's. But the N/A's were lighter than the TII's. s5 N/A vs. s4 TII, I think would be pretty close. I'd check the FAQ at the top of the page to find out for sure, I'm just guessing. I doubt you'll find much difference performance wise when it comes to 100lbs. give or take.

haha thanks, about the lsd, its been used in other rotary's just that they didnt have enough power to use it i guess. they would come out quick off the line but down the stretch they would pull slowly. my dad used it on his 12A NA so i'm guessing if i used it on my 13BT it wouldnt be such a bad idea.

anyone else know about the gauge cluster though? i would really like to keep the NA one.
