Cool just bull ****

yo! this is my first thread , i just joined this forum and i think its great so far. i basically just felt like startin a thread to see how this forum is. i was a DSM guy and had 1997 gst with a 50trim big 16g turbo.... wtf was i thinkin. car was fast but i took a ride in my friends fd3s rx7 and havent been hooked on them since. i am in the works of putting together a 1987 tII.... so far i pulled the AC and PS... the parts ive managed to scrounge up with my money so far are a 3" down pipe, racing beat y-pipe, N1 mufflers, short shifter, HKS bov, HKS intake, a used S5 turbo inlet , 680cc injectors, boost guage, S-AFC, and a manual boost controller. i plan on gettin a 60-1 turbonetics To4B turbo and probly a Jaytech manifold, racegate, upgrade bov, etc... you know the deal but with the set up i have does anyone have an idea of where i should be running if i get the car tuned? i hope its not a dumb question and i hope i dont have a bad setup goin so far- im only 17 so advice is much appreciated- thanks a lot

Welcome to the forum, bt-

Some of these guys really know their stuff- but if you can't wait for them to wake up, try checking the FAQ's and search functions at the top of the posts.

Happy posting!!

Seems like your on the right track, BUT. First in formost, as everyone will try to pound into your head, is making sure the car is running tip top in stock codition before modding. Even more important is to make sure the engine is healthy. If your engine is not healthy it will blow up, now question about it.

Going from a 97 to a 87 you are going to run into ALOT of little things that you didn't have to think about before. These issues can be resolved with some research, elbow grease, and motivation.

Some examples of things I am talking about that you should search this site for are-

Pulsation Dampener Mod
Fuel Pump Rewire
Fuel Cut Defender

You should also get your injectors cleaned because they are probably flowing 80% of stock. Search this site and read as much as you can.
