just bought a rx-7

hey guys. i just bought a rx-7 off of ebay and im gettin it friday. the only things he said was wrong with the car were "THIS CAR IS IN EXCELLENT RUNNING CONDITION, APART FROM TWO PARTS. FIRST, THE MANUAL CLUTCH FLUID LOOSES VOLUME, THEREFORE, I'M ASSUMING THERE IS A LEAK SOMEWHERE. THE CLUTCH, HOWEVER, WORKS GREAT. SECOND, THERE IS A LEAK IN THE A/C SYSTEM. I'VE TRIED TO FIX IT IN THE PAST, BUT HAVE ONLY BEEN SUCCESSFUL AT GETTING IT RUNNING FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME." any ideas on how to fix any one of them? i would ask more stuff but id figure id do a search first. thanks. any input is appreciated.

bah, who needs power robbing a/c anyway? i have 60x3 a/c....60mph by 3 windows. There's probably a leak somewhere, hopefully just a line cause that isn't such a big deal to fix.unless its the master or slave cylinder.

i had that problem and i just replaced my clutch master cylinder (its not a big deal) and it took me about an hour. i was losing alot of fluid (like the little tank would be empty in 2 days) it cost about 50 bucks and wasnt as hard to replace as you probably imagine.
(for the record, the clutch master cylinder is on the far drivers side on the engine bay connected to the firewall)
and **** a/c take it out and dont worry about the problems it causes.

hope it goes well for you, clutch hydraulics are easy to fix as jacob said. just get a friend to help you bleed it and you're set.

I didn't wanna scare the guy, LOL

I live in the DC area and I wouldn't be in a car without AC in the summer. Added weight be damned. If you live in a cooler place then by all means go yank it out.

Just a word of advice:
As with any car you are new to, take it easy as you get used to the handling. Few cars have a 50/50 front to rear weight balance and rear steer like an RX-7. For example if you try a quick lane change at 65 without practicing first at lower speeds, the rear steer will be a BIG SURPRISE.

congrats, clutch parts are relatively cheap and easy to replace, might wanna just swap em.

BTW, what part of TX? go check out the South section. If near DFW, ya need to come hang out for our weekly meetings.
