your first hundred bucks should be spent checking the compression if you didn't do it before the purchase. After that and other than a cone intake I can't really think of mods that are gonna cost under a hunded.

pinfield,
The 1st mod should always be gagues. This includes air/fuel, exhaust temp, boost, and water temp.
This will let you know if future mods are causing your engine to run lean (which can cause detonation and kill the engine).
After that - a performance exhaust, catalytic converver, and performance air intake are the next common mods. Those will make your boost creep up slightly so watch those guages or look into a boost control system of some type.

Yes there are great cheap mods for this car! Bonez MP ($60) Bonez DP about $100. Cone intake, I got mine for $40, take off the air pump $$$ Free! However wen using an intake & DP & MP, make sure you have enough fuel, it will increase your boost...alot! You don't want to run lean! My 88 T2 is getting much faster..I love it man!

ive gone the other way with my t2. you should hollow out the pre cat, and then work on the suspension. oh plus youre going to have to fix some stuff along the way so maybe its a good idea to take it easy on the mods.

good thinking mike but where i live the car needs to pass an emissions test so hollowing out the cat isnt really an option. ill most likly get a high flow cat to replace the exsisting ones along w/ a performance exhaust and intake
