Just about bought my Turbo-II

I don't want to make the same mistakes the old owner did. The motor is currently toast. The car has a full racing beat exhaust, and cold air intake. It does have an A/F guage and a boost guage. No FCD, no more fuel. What is the reccomended course of action for preventing that I blow the new motor I am going to put in there. I am planning on buying a FCD, is that enough, or do I need bigger injectors also? Thanks for all your advice.

The FCD does not allow the car to get more fuel.

My suggestion would be to rewire the fuel pump, get a walbro fuel pump and 2 720cc injectors. That should hold you over until you can afford to get a Fuel Management System.

the car will fall flat on its face @ 4K rpms with that much fuel and no way to control it.

get the FCD, pump, and rewire the pump and be sure to watch those gauges so you don't overboost or lean out.

Sounds like a plan, thanks for the advice. I have to of course get the new engine first, but I will get the FCD, the Waldoborough pump, and rewire it before I put it in. Should be good to go for a while.

if you go for 720's get a S-AFC to go along with them or some other kind of fuel management

To be honest it all depends how much your budget is for fuel mods. Some sort of piggy-back fuel computer or EMS is definitely a good idea. Definitely a fcd and walbro pump. The 720s are a good idea as well and you won't have to be worrying if you have enough fuel. Oh and an a/f gauge just uses the stock o2 sensor and isn't very accurate.

An egt gauge is more accurate, but best is a wideband o2 sensor. If you get an egt gauge and then get on a dyno once you at least know exactly what temp=what actual a/f ratio. And for poor, I know your pain. I spend all my money on my car, plus all my financial aid from school and its been sitting for 2-3 months. This weekend it should be running as long as my ******* injectors get here.
