well i was hunting my local u pull it when i came across an 88 tII with like 120xxx. the engine,computer,harness, and fuel pump are already gone. The tranny is there(150$) and the rear end w shafts(75). im planning a tII swap whenever i can afford it. my ? is can i tell if the tranny is even good before i buy it? the same with the rear.

 

There may be a couple as far as checking the trans input shaft for play, but I don't know what the spec says. And you will not be able to get a clue about the syncros or main bearing.

As with the diff probably the same thing. The rear end is worth it though because the half shafts alone are $150 or so on the forums.

 

as long as the boots arent torn the half shafts and all the splines look alright im going to take them. ive also snagged the bosst sensor from it. i guess whoever got to it first forgot that. might there be anything else i should take from it other than whats already out. as far as suspention the front and rear struts are gone. i will take the exhaust it looks aftermarket because it wasnt all rusty, had no cats and the mufflers didnt look stock.

 

You need the driveshaft because its different then the N/A.

 

ya i know i need that but that was also gone. what else would be beneficial to my tII swap???
