Question Jumping my test conector sets my idle at 500

I went to set my idle and the variable resistor in my 88 turbo and when i jumped the test connector it set my idle to 500. So i tryed bumping up the idle at the bac and it just sits at 500 and messing with the variable resistor doesnt make it go up any. Any clue what could be causing this i am thinking it is either the tps or the bac but i just put another bac on and tested it before i put it on and the resistance was 12.0 so it is good. I was trying to set these because when i first start the car and drive it it wants to stall when i let off the gas when i am driving untill it is warmed up and the idle sometimes wants to bounce up and down between 1000 and 600 before it goes back to 750. Is it just the tps adjustment? Thanks

Most likely. Other reasons can affect idle too, but that's usually the most common.

Jumping the test connector disables the BAC so you can see where the throttle plate hard stop is set.
A warm engine with no extra loads should idle closer to 700-750 on the test connector. That way the BAC only has to make up for the extra PS, AC, & alternator loads.
The idle adjust screw on the side of the BAC should get you there.

so it is my other idle screw because it was warmed up because on my gxl i did not have this problem it just idled the same but this one drops. And which screw is that on my turbo rx7? I am going to test and or adjust my tps right now and then adjust the other idle screw, the one on the bac dont seem to do much guess i am use to the idle screw on the gxl which really affected idle i am new to the turbo thing.
