july issue of sportcompact car re boost controller and turbo info
did anyone else read the articles? It is probably one of its more useful issue.
one article compares boost controllers. Looks like the HKS EVC's and Profec A did not work as well as the Profec B, AVC-R, and Blitz. What's interesting for me is how the later 3 can control boost spike. I have followed quite a few threads in both forums, and the consesus seems to be it is impossible for a controller to do this. The data seems to suggest otherwise. Am I reading it wrong??
the other article discusses turbo selections. Not as informative as I was hoping: I am still trying to figure out the proper upgrade compressor and turbine to go into an S5 housing..
opinion?

Rotary Freak
I read all of them except for a couple sucky ones that werent even as good as the ball valve...
First off the Apexi AVCR I found out is NOT the best one.
It is as far as OPTIONS but its one of the worst for hooking up..(splicing wires into ECU) And it cost 620 bucks, Not onlly that but its one that needs to be dyno tuned by a professional so your motor doesent pop and to get the best benifit...
The BLITZ seemed to be really easy to hook up and self learning. Its boost came on the earliest between all the others.
But for the Money in my opionion is the Greddy Profec B. It does all the things the Blitz does and is just as easy to hook up. Requires no profesional tuning and is only 350 on the rx7.com site. All the others pretty much suck.
