FC car cover question
Hi,
I am wondering if anyone can provide feedback on all weather car covers for 2nd gen coupes that have a good fit. I have an 88 Turbo II and I recently bought a covercraft weatherking HP cover for it and was not happy with the fit to the point that I am returning it. It did not wrap around the entire front bumper, and the sides did not even come down far enough to cover the side skirt completely. And because the sides were so high up, the grommets to use to secure it via bungy cord were so high the cord hooks would have been scraping the paint below the door.
I know sakebomb sells one but from what I can tell it is actually a covercraft weatherking that they re brand (meaning same one I already had that did not fit well).
Does anyone know of other brands (coverking, etc.) that you have used an outdoor cover from and can confirm first hand that they fit well on a 2nd gen coupe/turbo 2? Any input (or sample pics) is appreciated.
Thanks!

I’ve had 2 or 3 of the SBG version, and understand what you’re saying, but don’t find it an issue.
it is a very tight fit (by design) and it will barely cover my OEM S5 front lip, but it works. i also have the stock spoiler. are you sure you have the right cover? CC is weird…despite being a turbo, it is classified as a GTU “with wing” pattern, if memory serves.
I install from front to back. I’ve never noticed failure to cover the sides, at least not enough to be concerned. The bungee is optional, and I’ve never once needed to or had the desire to use.

Thanks for the feedback on the SBG version. I had told covercraft that my car included the stock rear spoiler so the one I had should have been made with that in mind. The rear fit perfect, it was really the sides and front bumper that were the problem fit wise.
I really need to have the option to secure it via bungy because we get a ton of wind at my house and have lost covers to wind on many things (grill, fire pit) even with a very tight fit when not secured with straps. Having a $350 cover blow away would be really bad, so I need to be able to secure it with bungy cord in a way that will not damage the paint on the car.
If no one else here has any feedback I may just try the Cover King brand to see if the fit is any better than the covercraft one. It seems like those are the 2 main options for custom covers.

I have a California Car Cover on my 80 RX-7 and it's a perfect fit. Its a very high quality cover and I have zero complaints with the cover. So happy with it that I will buy another for my 10AE. I have their indoor version so I can't tell you how well the outdoor version will work. The indoor version is without equal in my opinion. Best cover I have ever had!

I have one from carcover.com, its a really good fit unless you have rear louvres, with them it exposes about an inch of the front bumper. So far I'm satisfied with the quality.

the lycra covers fit differently, but all the covers seem to be cut from the same patterns
I think you used to be able to tell them you had side skirts and spoiler and it would come down further on the sides, the front always a tiny bit pokes out and ive had 3 different brand covers now ( especially if you have any kind of aftermarket lip)
I know cal covers does offer trim options such as TII and an option box where you can describe modifications to the vehicle
all 3 of mine fit like Jerry's pic so not sure what your issue was
