Alright, so obviously the bad of the past seven weeks was that I have discovered the failing coolant seal. There's no getting around that one.

But here's the good and what all I did accomplish in seven weeks:

• Complete cooling system overhaul, including new radiator, new electric fan, new water pump, and replacement of every cooling system hose
• FD alternator upgrade
• Repaired wiring harness - BAC, ACV, and O2 sensor connectors. Lost in the fact I discovered the coolant seal failure is that in several test drives, I have not had a single check engine light at cruise
• Replaced driver's side seatbelt rail
• New windshield
• Replaced ignition switch

Some things I didn't get to, but are in the works:

• Ordered a repaired wiper switch from 13Betc, it is on the workbench and ready to go in
• Repaired my cruise control switch and discovered one of the stoplight switches was screwed too far in. Will have to pick up if that fixes the cruise control later
• I have a different circuit breaker and distribution block for the relocated battery. I never liked the original one I got when I did that ages ago

So, I still leave for DGRR tomorrow morning, albeit in my daily driver Mazda 6. I guess the next thing is to look for my teardown and rebuild thread. 😂

 

What?? Screw that. You built it, it runs - now drive the thing.
