Jdm swap leaking gas from IDK were

so i thought i was done withe the swap, WRONG!! the moment gas started priming, i started smelling gas. I saw very little gas on the "mazda" logo on the rotor housing. took off the top manifold thinking a line had a cut, nothing, turned the key with the manifold off(just the top half off) and gas came out poring like a waterfall. i didnt have a chance to jack the car up and look since it was pretty late already. any idea were it could of been from? injectors and lines didnt leak at all. just by looking under the car, it looks like passenger side, right next to motor and tranny are. any help plz.

Cant really help as the car is yours. But the fuel lines run underneath the driver side IIRC.

did you pinch a gas line when you installed the engine?

Check the pulsation damper on the fuel rail. Also ive had injector orings dry up after sitting and leak. Ether way you need to pull the top mount off to get a food look

Why?
There's no fuel going to the transmission, it HAS to be coming from the fuel loop on the engine.

my guess is the fuel feed line leading to the primary fuel rail

You've already posted a pic of where the fuel goes from the filter over to the block and then returns back to the tank.
In between it makes a loop...from the filter to the primary rail>secondary rail>back out to the return.
It's a loop and it's the only possible source of your dripping gas leak.

Yeah, theres only so many ways it can leak. You are going to have to check all of the fuel lines inch by inch

https://www.rx7club.com/attachments/...ns-removal.jpg the red lines here, you need to pull the upper intake manifold off again it sounds like and look closer

fuel is pooling up somewhere and seeping down inbetween the engine and trany and thus coming out underneath the car

its crazy, because thats the first thing i checked lol.and nothing!!!
HEy guys, i fixed the problem lol. idk what line it is but i connected the gas to the wrong one, and i still dont know how, but it was leaking from the rear main seal. i removed the return line and no gas came out, so i connected the feed line in the next spot, and it blew off(return line ). so i tried the third and and it flowed normal! anyone know what the third line is for lol? In the picture u cans see how its suppose to go, and i had the feed line were the plugged one is(top one), gas line is the bottom and return is the right one. now i have to replace the rear main seal i messed up..

Feed line, return line, and ventilation line to charcoal canister, glad you got it sorted out, in the future if you're facing the firewall fire IIRC left to right should be charcoal canister, return, then feed

surprised no one caught that, i noticed the fuel feed hose going to the emissions line within seconds of looking at the picture.

JDM it is:

forward hard line is from the fuel pump>fuel filter>this port
top line is crankcase ventilation
rearward line nearest the firewall/oil filter is the fuel return line

on USDM cars the fuel feed and return lines are switched, turbo or n/a the orientation is all the same with the exception of the backwards JDM engines.

the main seal may be ok once it airs out for a few days, but you will need to at least drain your fuel soaked oil now and put in fresh before you turn the engine at all.

I know right lol, i assumed it was right since no one said anything. no i think the rear main is out, today morning there was a pretty large puddle of oil under it. the tranny is off so ill just replace it to be on the safe side.

nothin like pumping some high pressure fuel right into the engine.

i was always a little curious what would happen if one were to do that.

Just drain your pan and cooler, put fresh in, run it for a bit, then change again. Your not going to get it ALL out, but its pretty common for the oil to be slightly diluted with gas on these depending on engine health
