Arrow JDM FTP's and fog lights

OK i asked this as part of anoth rpost so i figured Ill ask again alone.

How are the s5 foglights and jdm ftps wired from the dealer?
Incase thta sint clear I want to know when and with what what turns on (e.g.:fog lights automatically come on with low beams, ftps only turn on with high beams ect..)

I ask becasue i have a s5 bumper on my s4 and currntly have the fogs wired to the parking lights. I also ahve custom mad LED ftps and I am not sure how to wire them. i was thinking of putting them to turn on only when i flashed the high beams but i cant figure out how to do that.

For that, I would splice a wire from the high beam relay to a new relay, and have that control the led's any time the high beams come on. I'm thinking of putting a couple of white cold cathode flourescents behind the FTP's to act as day time running lights. But first I have to replace my broken oil metering lines.

The JDM running lights in the FTP position are wired to the parking lights and are on when the parking lights are on.

The Fog lights are wired to the fog light switch and headlight switch, so that the fog light switch and headlights need to be on for them to work.

The DRL/fog lights in Canda are wired to come on with the 2nd ignition (on when running, off while cranking).

so if someone here in the us ordered the jdm ftps would we have to splice into the parking lights to light them up or is there a spot on the harness for them?

Dont mean to steal the post but I was just woundering if anyone would know why I do not have daytime running lights. When I turn my headlight switch the first turn, my gauges light up, all my outside amber and corner light come on, My tail lights, but no daytime running lights (I beleive the headlight is supposed to shine through the lenses in the bumper). Anyone know what could be causing this?

That would make more sence. Some people have told me the headlights are supposed to shine through the lenes once you turn the headlight ****. So you are supposed to just flash the high beams through them? Thats a good idea

i dont think they know what they are talking about. the know only has 3 stops; off, low beams, and high beams. i also dont think flshing the bringhts through a little hole would make that much difference on oncoming traffic. canadian FC's might because they have a manditory daytime running light law.

I guess you must have missed my answers in that thread.

Leave them that way. You could put a switch in so you can turn them off if you want, like stock.

Mad? Mad would be putting machine guns or something in the FTP's. LED's are pretty ho-hum...

i was thinking of putting them to turn on only when i flashed the high beams but i cant figure out how to do that.
And what would the point of that be? Even ultra-bright LED's are going to be completely invisable with the high-beams on. Realistically they'll be barely adequate as marker lights.

Totally unnecessary. Relay's are for controlling high-current devices. LED's draw fractions on an amp each.

Then go out and actually look at your car while someone flashes them. You'll see they work very well.

on a car as low as ours, to oncoming traffic, i think having your lights on thru the FTP's, then flashign your brights wouldnt have an effect. remember, we are talking about having your lihgts already on and shining thru yur FTP lenses.

Dude, just go out and look instead of speculating. I can assure you they work fine. I use them often, and have never had trouble getting people's attention.

I wanted to wire them to the high beams so they would flash when you flash the high beams when the lights are off. That is the function of the ftp. you flash your highs through it to signal other cars that they have the right of way "flash to pass". And you know i meant "made" funny guy.

Actually I didn't...

Why bother trying to get LED's flashing through the FTP lenses when the normal high-beams will be many, many times brighter? It'd be like replacing the horns with a bicycle bell.
