Lightbulb J-SPEC 13BT drop help

i just bought a 13bt for my 88 TII because the engine in it suddenly lost power, black smoke, only revs to 2500rpm (any guesses)? anyways,

im going to be droping in the new engine soon. i do have mechanical experience but i have yet to do any type of engine swap. i wanted to know if there is any special tricks or methods that will help make the engine drop more easy. any input will be appreciated!! thanks alot!

Get a good haynes manual, and make sure you mark all the damn wires and corresponding sensors with masking tape and permenent marker or something similar. If this is your first engine swap ever i would take some pics and read a little. Its pretty damn easy on these cars man, it took me about two days of easy kicking back work when i did mine. There is a write up by some guy on the forum, i forget the name but look for it, its a decent write up, but nothing more than just what the haynes manual tells you, and haynes has pics good luck man

Also sounds like your running INSANELY RICH

Take your spark plugs out and see if they are drenched in gas.... Does it flood easily, poor gas mileage, smell gas at all?

Blue smoke is oil, and white is coolant. Black is a very rich mixture.

yeah dude, run a compression test before you just change out the whole engine. If its flooding everytime, its probably something simple, keep us updated.
