Angry Its got gas, its got spark, why won't it start??

==skip this paragraph if you don't care...==
Here in Olathe, we have some of the worst... er most "conservative"... drivers ever. Sometimes they like to run you off the road... in a parking lot! A Ford Excursion (frikkin HUGE) decided to do this to me in a parking lot, and as I swerved out of the way I had to choose to hit a parked car (insurance ouchie) or a light pole (eh... insurance dont need to know). I chose the pole. Stupidly, I hit it dead center with the front of the car - the weakest point, where there is no unibody. Thus begins my sad saga.

On this NA rx7 that is almost completely stock, there is a lack of front end (I removed it) and a lack of radiator and fan. The belts are fine, the water pump should be fine, and the car won't start. It gets a hellacious amount of spark as usual, and it gets enough gas... as usual. For some reason it won't start tho. Once or twice I've got it to run for a few seconds and I've revved it to 6 or 7,000 RPM's... but it won't stay running. Is there a circuit that prevents it from starting sans-radiator? Does it know I hurt it? Whats wrong dammit?

uhm you need the rad and oil cooler I belive (or it's just smart to have them in it when trying to run a car!)

how about the air filter/afm? need that connect I belive too.

btw why didn't you just let the ford hit you can reap the ins money from his/her ins? ppl do this to me all the time I keep going stright (as long as I have right away of course) they ether hit me or more than likely they swarve away.

anyway that's all I can help with hope it helps.

well im not GOING anywhere... i just want it to run hehe... im not STUPID...
uh... the intake starts at the part that says 13B injected LoL.. the rest is trashed... and i was thinkin about gettin a Bonez filter and some good Home Depot pipe...
Would have... but it was a parking lot so theres no way to blame him...
Is it necessary to have the AFM/filter or the rad CONNECTED for the car to start?

you actually don't need the air filter to run a car. I'd guess that u dislodged something important when you hit the pole. maybe something involving ur ecu.

sounds like some massive vac leaks. I had same issues with my car, broke down the manifolds 4 times to reseal before I bought ultra copper two and sandwiched the gaskets. instantly, no vac leaks and she started fine..

You need to get everything hooked up......and you need to check for codes while your at it.....if you have no luck, tear down the manifolds and look for the vac. leaks like the above said....and while your at it, replace all the vac, if they look bad. no need to have problems later.

The following advice is given under the assumption that the car (when it starts), runs for 3-5 seconds then shuts off:

Your AFM is probably farked.. The way to check this is to jumper the fuel pump test connector, it's a yellow (according to FSM) connector with two wires, right around the AFM connection. Then try to start the car. If it starts and runs, your AFM is bad.
