It's a bird! No, it's a plane! No, it's...an electrical problem!

lol anyway, so I'm getting the deuce beeps and a dead tach that means there's something wrong with the powersteering comp or the lines or something, or so i've read(something to do with there being no reception of speed signal?). Recently had the battery terminals switched for a period of time, and my ecu managed to pop.I have the car running again, but I'd like to solve this problem. I've done some searching, but nothing useful came up. I've looked at the wiring diagram, and it goes tach(wired with a buzzer) to the trailing ignition coil, so I'm assuming it runs off a pulse? lol bit of a newb, bear with me. Anyway, i wanna trace the line to see if there's a short/something melted perhaps? I'm really not sure where to start with this though. Any help or insight is greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance
also, don't know if it's related at all, but the deck doesn't work anymore either..

What's with everyone managing to hook up their battery backwards lately?

Anyway, first you need to check all of your fuses, underhood and under dash.

They dead tach and double beep indicate that the trailing coils aren't firing. Confirm this fact by pulling off a top/trailing plug wire and cranking it while it's near metal to see if there is spark.

If there is no spark, check all of the connections to the trailing coils/igniter, and check the coils for the proper resistance.

please read the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this section. It contains many of the commonly asked questions (such as the one this trhead was started with).

There you would have found that with the trailing coil not working, you have no tach signal, with no tach signal, the power steering computer would report no engine signal.

So fix the trailing coil. It is probably not working.
