issues identifying leads
alright I got a new head unit for my car, which already had an aftermarket one in it when I got it.
I have instructions to find which is which, problem is that to find the battery lead the power lead and the automatic antenna lead I have to hook up a test bulb
I tried this with two different bulbs both of which blew out right away (I checked out the speakers after and the wires that poped the bulbs were power)
what Im asking is there some reason that all my bulbs are poping?
should I remove all the extras that were left in the car?
there is definetly some extra goodies in there, even a fuse (there used to be subs and upgraded speakers)
should I leave all of that or go with the original wires straight into the new head unit?
thanks for any feedback

You might not be using 12V rated bulbs. I"m using mostly origional wires on my stereo install, except for Monster cable to the speakers and from the battery.

I have no idea what the first bulb was because I just took it out of some random old toy I found in my closet. However the second one I found was still in the package so it was definetly 12V
maybe Ill just pull out all the extra fuses and converters and everything else in there and see if I can get it all to work that way
