Have you checked all your sensors? TPS, Rad Temp, Bac Valve working correctly, settting you idle to FSM? What exactly is the idle doing? What rmp range?

Ok, does it continue like that, or when it warms up does it drop to a steady rpm. You in the bay area?

When you first start it, what happens to the idle?
When it is warmed up, what happens to the idle?
Is you car stock, or emissions and such removed?

The best way to check them is per the FSM. Factory Service Manual. Look for threads where Hailers, or NZConvertable, or Wayne88na have chimed in on regarding your situation. These guys are brilliant. Amongst, many other gurus here!
