internal door cover

Do you think it would be a good idea to smear the rear of the cork part of the door cover with silicone as an extra protection against water?

the factory put a piece of plastic over the inside of the door to keep the door panel dry, if yours is missing, any piece of plastic would work, garbage bag etc

yeah it's just that I was thinking that it's probably not just water itself, but there could be humid air that gets trapped in inside the door as well
