Intermittent CEL, after hard run
I tried searching but I'm not quite sure what this would fall under so I didn't get much in the way of answers.
At the last two autocrosses my '89 GTU started having the Check Engine light come on right after I finish my runs, accompanied by a slightly low, rough idle. Blipping the throttle makes the light go out, but then it comes back on when the idle drops. Letting the car idle a few minutes makes the CEL go away for good. Even just putting slight pressure on the throttle pedal (not enough to rev the engine, just enough to take the slack from the trottle cable) makes the CEL go out. After a few minutes the idle comes back to normal as well.
What should I check? TPS? Something else? Is it maybe heat related? I'm stumped.
The car otherwise runs great, pulls strong, etc.
Open to advice!
