Question about detonation. What is the possible threat from running too much boost on stock intercooler? I know lean mixture leads to detonation, but does it also happen from hot air being into the engine? Wouldnt a/f mixture with hot air be rich?

Yes, hot intake charge raises the chances of detonation.
Turbo intake outlet temps can go over 200F easily!
Think about it...you can BOIL WATER at this temps!
