intake porting

ok, I have searched for like hours on this site. I just need to know when I go to port my intake manifold this weekend how much should I take off. i do not want to port match to the engine because of the port velocity decrease will kill my torque. What is a good rule of thumb. What all should I port out?

Matchporting does not involve taking out huge amounts of metal, it's taking out just enough so there's no step in the path from manifold to engine (or wherever). It won't hurt torque at all if you're sensible. I understand most of the gains with the NA manifold come from porting/matching the junction of the two halves.
