Intake port/polish /smooth

Is there a way to do this without paying big $$$ or sending it out. How much does it increase performance, if any...?

THANX

I just read an article on this, and they said that it is best left to the perfessionals. Mine was ported by Hayes, and I am happy with their work. Article was in sept issue of import racer(I think) So pick one up and it talkes about all of the different ports. street bridgeport and the other I don't know how to spell.

mm.... real porting...

I was thinking more along the lines of smoothing out the intake MANIFOLD or VDI. I heard somewhere that they shoot it with glass beads or something !!? ? ! Is there a do-it-yourself way to do the manifold/VDI?

Maybe your referring to Extrude Honing? Theres no way to port the housings while theyre still on the car, or else youd see alot more ported motors.
