intake manifolds? help please

intake manifolds? help please
hey i powder coated my turbo2 intake manifolds and when i was cleaning them up. i noticed that in the lower intake manifold one of the screen things that sit under the injectors inside the manifold was cracked so i broke them out. now i wounder if they could just be left out thinking that there a fuel restriction. has anybody ever went on and ran there car with out these pieces in the manifold?

Just replace them, they are cheap at any mazda dealer. They do serve a purpose, I would give an explanation but will look up a write up I found a long time ago as to why they are a benefit and required.(will post if I find it) Something like they help in vapourizing the fuel like a squirt gun hitting a wall or screen? hehe see I am not good at describing this so will try to find that post
