Intake Manifold Hoses

I have a 1988 NA. I did the throtle body modification and was wondering if I can just plug all the coolant lines that go into the intake manifold.
Also, since I removed my air pump and my cat convert, my 5th and 6th port acuators do not open, so I was owndering if when I replaced my intake manifold with the one I just ported, if I could just simply remove the 5th and 6th port sleves. One more thing, I want to install an aftermarket water temp gauge just behind where the altinator is. THere is an inlet in back of the water pump, where I think the current water temp sensor is. Can I unscrew that and thread in the aftermarket sensor.

well you shouldent pug off that coolent line but you can just run it from the back of the block to the back of the water pump. insted of running it threw the TB and BAC valve.
You can just remove the sleves.
No on the back of the water pump that one thing at screws in there is the water thermowax sencer i think its called. it needs to be there cause it goes to the computer im pretty sure. you can put one it on top of the filter neck where that hole is just drill and tap it out.

You should reroute that into the back of the water pump where it's supposed to go.

Absolutely not. That's the water thermosensor the ECU uses to determine engine temp. Since you won't be needing the stock temp guage, swap the stock gauge's sensor for the new one. It's located under the Oil filter; there's a good pic on page 106 of the Haynes manual (Fig. 10.1) showing it.
