Intake manifold is fucked.

Ok this afternoon i was sayin to myself that I am gonna put in my new OMP lines. didnt look that difficult. so i go at it, so many god damn vacum lines and **** to unhook so i took off the intake manifold and noticed there was a gasket. ****. So i said bah it should be ok. so i tighend all the bolts up and i snapped the one that is sort of in the middle its like 3-4 inches long grrr. so i still thought oh it will be ok. well i hooked everything back up and looked at a electrical connector coming out of the BAC... thought to myself what the hell ? wasent it connected to somthing before ? . The car started up fine no problem and drove decent. i started flooring it later tonight and it sounds like all the air is escaping and the car isnt very fast, and when i accelerate with no boost slowly the car wont go past 5 and hesitates. so im thinking its that damn gasket and its probobly not cheap ! so im asking... that bolt that I broke. isnt it making that much of a difference ? do I need a new gasket ? can I just use liquid gasket stuff and put it over the old one ? and is this even casuing my problem ?

Wait a sec: you have minus one gasket (the intake manifold's, no less), and minus one sturdy bolt, and you're asking if this is a problem ?

How tight did you tighten that bolt if you managed to snap it??????????? It's only supposed to be torqued down to 40 ft/lbs IIRC..

I think he wants us to console him...

YES, it is the bolt you broke AND the lack of a gasket that is causing you not to have boost.

Not sure what year it is. But on my Turbo II (91) I believe the torque was about 21 ft lbs. Might want to double check that one.

No gasket + snapped bolt = No seal on manifold
No Seal On Manifold + vaccuum created by intake of air = leak
Leak = No power
