Intake box material question
What would be the best material to build a cold air box out of (steel, aluminum, tin...) so that it would absorb the least amount of heat? OR does material not really matter?

For mine, I went to the Home Depot and bought a sheet of aluminum flashing. Then I bought some heat/sound insulation material from the Black Dragon. Fabbed the box out of the aluminum and attached the insulation with aluminum tape. Put a strip of foam around the top to bridge the gap left between the box and the hood. Worked fine. I'm still gonna probably go back and run the piping through the fender well and mount the filter outside the engine bay.

which air filter
rather than start a new thread, i'll just ask this here, as it is on the topic of intakes.
What air filter works best for the FC (cone, mushroom), and what brands are good (K&N, HKS, Apex'i...)?

I have the Bonez and its great especially with a cold air box. It has the same design as the K&N one and can be cleaned using the K&N filter cleaning stuff. Just please do not get the ebay filters as tempting as they are with the cheap price and the various colors, beacause you will recieve what you pay for- they suck. Check out www.rx7.com for the Bonez intake.
