intake air temperature sensor - manifold

Should the IAT sensor, when at temp per FSM, hold steady voltage of 1-2v at the ECU or fluctuate with increased throttle?

88 Vert s4 n/a stock everything.

Thanks.

it should vary but only slightly, not much.

the IAT is a rather unimportant sensor anyways, i can't recall the last time i tested one.

Cool. I just pulled the codes on the car, said it was bad...didn't know what to look for when i replace it with a new/new-ish one. But, now I do.

At temp now it reads 2.5 and goes up to 3.x while increasing rpm's.

Mine is broken. Is it vital to use an OEM sensor or can I use a replacement style part?

I would not recommend it but also don't know where you would find one. They are available online as well in salvage yards.

87-91 RX7 use the same part as well the 89-95 MPV. If you go MPV you will have to (carefully) remove the injector style clip from it.
