Installing a sun roof

Hi

My 1986 RX7 originally came without a sunroof. A previous owner installed anaftermarket sunroof (glass) a number of years ago. This one is smaller than the original one.

Is it possible to install an original sunroof in my car ? (Are brackets etc there already or....)

Looking forward to you comments.

Thanks

Wankelviking/Oivind

I would say no. Why do you want the original one when it already has one?

Got pics of your car? Just interested to see how this "custom" setup was done.

Hi

This aftermarket glass sunroof is shaking and making a rattling noise when opened. That is the reason why I was thinking about making a change.

My aftermarket sunroof does not leak - so I'll guess I should keep it ..

Haven't got a picture but the glass sunroof, but it is on of those do-it-yourself things that were popular here in Europe in the late 80-ies. (Manual not electric)

Thanks for your comments!

I would check to see if the bolts/strews are loose or if they had some sort of bushings that were in place to prevent noise and have worn out. Also check the actual hinges and the latch too. This is actually a common problem with most flip up glass sunroofs, even with cars that came like this factory. Hope this helps.
