Installing SS line

I'm having a hard time installing my fuel line into the seat after I cut it, is there any way to do it so the hose dosen't start fraying and you don't have to cut the fraying section off?

Tried taping the hose first before you cut through it?

Do you guys keep a thin strip of tape on it when you put the fitting on?

I didn't need to.

There were a few lone frays I did manuever around but not that hard.

The best cut is quick. The guys at the speed shop cut it perfectly with one big cut from a huge scissor.

I used some clippers I had and it was a little messier and took about a minute.

I typically use black electrical PVC tape and tape it really tight.
I find masking tape doesn't work as well.
I sometimes use an air-powered cut-off tool to cut the hose.

Thanks for the advice, I used PVC electrical tape on it, and I didnt have any frays until I tried to put the fitting over the hose.. I managed to get one on, but I don't really care to waste 1ft of line for every 10ft I plumb.. I know I'm being a pain in the *** with the questions, but this is the first time I've done this. I wonder if I wrap tape around the tip firmly and with one wrap if it would keep it from fraying and fit in the seat?

Yeah, although not recommended, you can try it with the tape to see if it makes it easier.
It shouldn't hurt anything with the tape under there.
