installing shock+spring?? sumthing about new boots???
i was reading a write up on installing shocks+springs...it said sumthing about new boots in tha rear speaker towers or sumthin in tha safty warning....something about the shocks going through your speaker tower and youll be riding on springs only or sumthing???
can someone confirm this and/or tell me where to get these boots??

umm i think what you mean is...
when you take out the rear shocks you have the strut top the there is there metal plate that is on the bottom of the boot. if you leave this part out or it is broken you car will ride on the srings only. when i had pep boys originally do mine they broke the one on the passanger side and failed to tell me. i did drive with this for a while and it wont cause any REAL problems except when your suspension bottoms out like when you hit a pot hole the top of the strut hits the body of the car and makes an ungodly BANG that gets really annoying pretty quickly. there is also a boot that protects the shaft of the shock but this you CAN remove if its old and brittle. when you take the sring off you will see what i mean. just make sure you put everything back together the way it came appart.
