Installing RE-Amemiya Spoiler
I just bought a used re-amemiya wangan spoiler. And I want to do things right, so what would be the right way to install the spoiler? drilling, ect?

yeah do it yourself by "drilling, etc"...... if you don't know how to measure and drill correctly, then I would follow the advice to bring it to your local body guy, u said u want to have it done right, so either do it correctly yourself or have someone who knows how to do it for you.
Put it this way, I could install a body kit or spoiler but I'd rather have my body guy do it so it's perfect, then you can take it back to him if it falls off...haha

double sided tape.
what I would do:
1. look at the spoiler and see where the mounts are
2. measure how far apart they are
3. mark it on the body
4. stare at it for an hour while i decide whether or not imma mess it up
5. double check to make sure the wing will fit on right, not askewed.
6. pull out the drill
7. think about it some more before plugging in the drill
8. ask the forum how to mount it
9. wait for the forum to answer
10. read through one of those long bulleted explanations that will help me procrastinate because I'm afraid to do anything without supervision/ approval
11. take the drill and make the holes.
12. mount the wing
13. cry when it's not on straight.
14. make another thread in another section so I can get nicer answers.

I had never removed teh TII/GXL wing before. I looked at the wing, then looked behing the spare tire thing, felt around (brought me back to the HS days) and found the bolts. Removed them, pulled off the wing.
I had never installed a Sport wing, let a lone on a car that did not have the mounting holes already. I pulled out the wing, mocked it up, used a sharpie to mark where the holes should go and drilled. I have the wing on there still and I never posted a thread to ask for help.
I don't know if people just give up trying or if they're just so used to having others do their work (mommy/daddy) or if it's a lack of common sense. It's annoying and disheartening at the same time but I'm glad I don't have to deal with this type of people on a daily basis (unless I choose to on this forum, SOMEONE has to look out for the poor 7s).

x2. iv seen the re wings. heck i worked in a rx7 shop and next door was a jdm importer and i saw this wing myself and i was told it was a re-a by the owner. a friend bought it and people told me it was corksport. i ended up **** slapping them with the paperwork as proof that it wasnt. at the end of story it turned out being a charge speed wing

Either way, to the original poster. If you have to ask how to mount it, you are probably just better off taking it to a pro. Im sure you will be happy you did in the long run. You dont want a bunch of holes in your car that you dont need, and you dont need your spoiler flying off on the highway either.

Get the Wing and put a Big piece of cardboard on the Mounting surface of the Spoiler, and Trace out A template...Cut the template out of the cardboard and Mount it on the Car..now you can see where the Mounting holes are On the Template.Simply Drill Through the cardboard into the Car,and create the Holes it needs for Mounting the Real spoiler... before you mount the Spoiler,Take a bit of Clear silicone and smear it on to the Spoiler's mounting surface(so rain won't effect the holes you made.)Mount the spoiler..Tighten it Down ..DONE!
