Installed new motor, now car won't start

My car blew an apex seal, along with a coolant seal. I picked up a new motor, put it in the car. The motor has great compression, and all it does is crank and crank. It sputters every once in a while, but will not start. It is flooding plugs like it's it job. I know the injecters are good because they were working great on my other motor. Any ideas guys?

Brandon.

Try starting it with starting fluid...thats what i had to do when i installed my rebuild it took awhile for it to go but the more it ran the easier it started and ran.

well thats the thing is we used starting fluid to try and start her,but all she is doing is sputtering and loading the plugs with gas. My friend thinks I have a stuck injecter, but I think differently because these injecters worked great in my last motor. Thanks for the prompt respond though.

Is your cpu grounded, or are there any connections your might have forgoten ?
Are your coilpaks sending the spark ?

Just suggestions.

yea you should check the plugs and wires, try opening the throttle all the way when you start it, the little extra air might help it a bit

well thast what i do when my engine has trouble starting

Put a timing light on it and make sure that you're getting spark to the plug - if you're getting good compression then you shouldn't have to tow start it like some people have to do.

Is it possible you're flooding it? Have you tried pulling the fuel pump and injector fuses and cranking it to see if it catches?

At the root of it, to run, your car needs air, fuel, and spark to run - and air and fuel must be in the right quantities. If your compression is good, you're either not getting enough fuel, getting way too much fuel, or not getting spark.

So I'd say the most likely causes behind your car not starting are:

- Vacuum leak between the MAF sensor and the engine
- vital sensor unplugged (like the MAF or the CAS) causing the computer not to fire the coils
- flooding due to leaky injectors (typical of Rx7s with factory injectors)

If you're getting spark, and it won't try to catch in a few seconds of cranking with the top two fusible links out of the engine fuse box, verify your timing is correct and try tow starting it.

we checked the spark on both the trailing and leading plugs, and they are getting spark. As far as the ecu being grounded, the car makes a LOUD beep when they ign is turned on, not the coolant buzzer, a different noise. I am almost certin when we installed the uim, we didnt get all the grounds or something because it is just too weird. We were messing with the flapper door on the MAF to try to get it to catch, and we unflooded it a million and a half times, but still nothing. I will double check all the grounds, and such. Thanks for the input guys.
