Installed my Wideband today

I installed my AEM wide band today. The sensor is in the down pipe about 6-7 inches further down the in original narrow band sensor. I learned today that my air/fuel ratio is all over the place. At idle it is at 11.6 to 11.8 cruising at part throttle at about 2500-3500 RPMs im at 14.1-14.3 then when i get into boot at about 3000RPM it drops to 10.8 and as the RPMs come up to redline it levels off at 12.0

I have a walbro pump, stock primaries, 720 secondaries, an Rtech 1.7, an Untuned SAFC II, and a BNR 3 on a stock port motor. I have a RB 2.5in downpipe and a 3in Intake with a AEM cone filter on it.

Saturday im going to install a new set of plugs and an MSD 6AN and see what that does the the ratios then its going to be time to start tinkering with the SAFC. Any tips? I have never messed with an SAFC before so i'm going to be learning as i go with this.

I wouldnt say that you are 'ALL over the place'. In fact you should try to read the AEM an average...

Look more at the sweep than the digital numbers. The sweep is actually reading in real time. The numbers have a slight lag (verified this with the motec software)

You should also expect to see different readings under load than at idle. Under boost, your target afr should never go above 12.

When turning my car(stand alone), we found that it was alright to have leaner (13-14) AFR when cruising.

Fatter in low rpm and under load. (10-12)

Hope that helps

EDIT: my guess it that upgrading the spark will lean out the mix

I have a streetported s5 with a stock turbo , 3in exhaust, walbro 255, apexi neo and a front mount. Just the other day I was out messing with it and I was hitting 9.5lbs and the a/f was right at 12.0. I had it so rich that it would studder when the secondaries kicked in so I lean it out a few at 3,4,5,6,7 grand. Then I got on it again and it felt like a intercooller pipe blew of so I looked. Nothing so I fire it back up and it was running on 1 rotor if that. I would keep it pretty rich or get it tuned professionaly.
