Installed Jacob's Rotary pack
Installed Jacob's Rotary pack
Well I noticed no real difference in performance (as expected) but man the car starts so much easier and on top of that it idle's really good now.
Anyway I got the Jacob's for $100 from a friend. He wrecked his second gen last week and parted it out....

You got an excellent deal! I had one priced and never looked back since. I'm quite happy with my Crane Cams Ignition Box. Infact, It's paid Itself off with all the Fuel I have saved since I started using It.

did you put this on a TII, or NA? I cannot decide if I want to put an ignition box on my stock 'vert. I would like to get better gas mileage from it (i am only getting about 15mph), does anyone think I should? What does the setup require?
Typically 1-3hp gain across the board.
Top end power is noticable improved.
Idle is smoother.
Mileage is slightly improved.
One of the best reasons to run one is that it fires very worn out plugs with very little fuss.  This keeps spark plug swaps minimized.

hmm wonder if it could improve my 13-14mpg :P
of course city driving in LA probably helps totally kill my mileage...and of course i cant keep my foot out of it.
Ian, you can use 1 box for the leading plugs. to boost all 4 plugs you need 3 MSD boxes: 1 for leading and 1 for each trailing. many people just use 1 box on the leading since trailing supposedly won't do much unless you are laying down serious hp.

one unit is all you need. I'm really happy with my Jacobs. It's the old model. My fuel mileage went up from 19/20 on the HWY to about 24/25. In the city it was about 15/16. It all depends on how much i'm on the gas. Idles wayyyy smoother and starts much better. I would recommend it, i think it pays for itself in the long run.

What's the suggestion for the best ignition to run ie.
1. Jacobs ice pack
2. HKS rotary ignition
3. msd 6a (example)
4. crane ignition
Since I'm trying to do my car the smart way I'ld love to know which one I should buy

Mine died on me within a 1.5yr I owned It. I complianed to Crane Cams and they Immediately sent me a new one, despite the warranty being expired for over a year.
2yrs later... no problems.
