Install S5 turbo on an S4

I'm going to purchase an S5 turbo for my S4 and looking for clarification. I believe as long as I use the S5 manifold I can bolt on the S5 turbo with no issues. I understand the S5 has a boost controller however my understanding is that is external to the turbo. Does the wastegate operate the same between the 2?
Thanks

that is correct.

the S4 and S5 turbo have different manifold flanges, so you need the S5 manifold with the S5 turbo.

the oil drain is different S4 to S5 because the metering pump moves, so the drain the front cover moves. so the S4 drain needs to get swapped.

the downpipes interchange. as do the water pipe and hose. the oil feed i believe is the same, worst case you'd need the S4 one.

the wastegate works the same (well the S5 is much better), the actuator is still 7psi.

the S5 uses a bleed style boost control with the solenoid mounted on the vacuum rack, so the actual turbo has an extra hose barb for this hose. the S4 pipe does swap over, or you can cap it, or install a boost controller, or a bleed valve.

to start with though, it should be capped, you want low boost at first
