inner tie rod differences

I was wondering if anyone knew if inner tie rods came in different lengths.

I have a manual rack, I bent my inner tie rod end a while ago. It was so bent, I was not able to compare the original vs my aftermarket replacement. The thread size and porch are the same, so I just installed it.

Before I aligned my car, I made sure my rack was center, equal turns left and right. When I did my alignment I noticed one side used a 12mm wrench on the inner tie rod, and the other side was 13 or 14mm wrench. The amount of threads isn't very even either. Anyone play around with fc tie rods and racks enough to know the difference, if any?

Factory rod end? I've noticed difference like you have with after market suppliers. Granted, not for RX7's, but still.

i've seen that the aftermarket stuff can come with different sized headed hardware too. also the threaded lengths, and i've even seen tie rods vary in overall length too.

Mazda lists 1 part for every PS rack, it does both sides, FB01-32-240A

the manual rack uses that one on the left, and then an FB02-32-240A on the right.

your aftermarket part probably is "close enough" in order to fit a bunch of cars

the manual racks have a different tie rod. order this for 29 and use a PS rack tie rod, or the aftermarket one you have.

Cool!

I almost forgot about this thread. I thought my tie rods were threaded in different amounts but I looked at my car the other day and it's evenly threaded in, just the wrench is different, 12mm one side, 13mm other. When I was doing my alignment, I felt one side I was turning a whole lot. To get into spec, but then again I did a bunch of stuff to it so it was all out of wack
