Injectors

i was just wondering what size the o-rings are on the stock injectors of a 13b from 86. My injectors are leaking and someone suggested I replace the o-rings before doing anything else. Sizes for the primary and secondary injectors would be much appreciated!

I'm not sure if you're trying to get something local or cheap, but you should be able to order the OEM from Mazdatrix, Atkins, and even the dealer. I get piece of mind with stuff like that when I know it's the correct size and composition for the application.

If you've never removed the UIM before, it can be overwhelming/time consuming. However, pictures, labeling, and referencing the FSM should make it only half a day affair if you're diligent.

Just my $0.02 worth, I'd get the replacement o-rings and rubber grommets straight from mazda or one of the vendors that DC5Daniel said. I have had the injector o-ring kits from oreillys (or autozone or one of those) leak and spray fuel everywhere after installation. Luckily I wasnt running the engine, just pressurizing the rail. They are close in size, but off just a little.

When I buy a used RX-7 I just send the injectors out for "rebuilding" and flow testing. That way I don't have to deal with piecing together the right parts, I can match the injectors if I wish, and it also tells me if the injectors will likely last for a few more years. It would suck to just replace the o-rings and then have the engine blow due to a dirty screen or otherwise failed injector.
