Injector swapping

Can I take my secondary injectors and swap them with my primaries? Or do they need to be in their original places? Suspecting leaky injector and wanna see if that resolves the flooding

S4 N/A. all 460cc injectors

Yes you can swap them around but wont fix your leaking problem as leaking injector will still leak and flood engine . Have them cleaned and serviced that should fix your problem

Yes, but given the effort involved in getting to the primary injectors to swap them, you should probably just send them out for cleaning as WJM ROTARIES suggested. Or depending on cost near you obtain a known good / cleaned set and just install those.

I wouldn't want to disassemble the UIM to get to the primaries, swap, reassemble the UIM to test them, find they were the problem, then disassemble the UIM again to get all the injectors out and have them cleaned, then reassemble the UIM again.

Someone near me cleaned them and flow tested for $85 per set of 4

Wow I’m an idiot. The leaking secondaries would still be under pressure so yeah the leaking one would still be a problem haha. I’ll just get them cleaned. I just took everything apart and removed all emissions, and rewired the ecu ground , rewired all the injector plugs with new ones and rewired the tps connector. Still have the BAC. Car started fine but really bouncy idle , which wasn’t happening before. I tried adjusting TPS but I don’t think my car was warmed up enough because it’s running crappy so I don’t wanna keep it running. Can I just use a heat gun to the therowax to trick it into thinking it’s warmed up? And now I keep getting flooded everytime I start it then stop it after acouple of min.

I thought flooding after starting and shutting off before warm up was complete was a common issue. Especially for a S4. Also here is a kit Mazdatrix sells to test for/bandaid leaky injectors.

Awesome thanks man, never seen that before . The flooding isn’t really happening anymore . I think it’s cause I was messing with it a lot the other day , turning it on and off a bunch of times for test purposes . Let it sit for 2 days and it’s not really happening anymore . Either way i think I have a small vac leak and Have to take the UIM off anyway . So gonna get my injectors cleaned if the price is reasonable . Thanks guys
